# Which Problems Are Solved
During user registration and password changes, the console's password
complexity hint displayed the raw `{{value}}` placeholder instead of the
configured minimum length — e.g. `Must be at least {{value}} characters
long (0/8)`. The bug is language-independent (confirmed in English and
Dutch).
# How the Problems Are Solved
The `password-complexity-view` template passed `policy.minLength` — a
proto `uint64` that deserializes to a JavaScript `bigint` — to the
ngx-translate pipe. ngx-translate v17's `formatValue` returns
`undefined` for a `bigint`, so the `{{value}}` token was never
substituted. The template now passes the component's existing
`minLength` getter (`Number(policy.minLength)`), so the value
interpolates correctly.

# Which Problems Are Solved
When MFA is enforced with only Email OTP as a second factor, new users
hit a dead end on the MFA setup screen. The `ChooseSecondFactorToSetup`
component hides Email OTP when `emailVerified` is `false`, and if email
verification was skipped earlier in the flow (e.g. `EMAIL_VERIFICATION`
env not set to `"true"`), no MFA options are visible and the user cannot
proceed.
# How the Problems Are Solved
In the MFA setup server component (`mfa/set/page.tsx`), before
rendering, detect when forced MFA has no visible second factors because
all configured factors require verification the user hasn't completed.
When Email OTP is configured but the user's email is unverified,
redirect to `/verify` with `send=true` so a verification code is sent
immediately.
After the user verifies their email, the existing flow in `verify.ts`
calls `checkMFAFactors` which redirects back to `/mfa/set` — where Email
OTP is now visible since `emailVerified` is `true`.
The redirect pattern follows the existing precedent in
`authenticator/set/page.tsx`.

# Which Problems Are Solved
- On self-hosted ZITADEL, the CSP `img-src` directive was baked in at
build time from `ZITADEL_API_URL`, blocking branding logos when the
runtime domain differs from the build environment
- CSP construction was duplicated across three files with no single
source of truth
# How the Problems Are Solved
- Introduced a centralized `buildCSP()` function in `src/lib/csp.ts`
that constructs the full CSP string from runtime inputs (`serviceUrl`
for img-src, `iframeOrigins` for frame-ancestors)
- Middleware and flow-initiation now call `buildCSP()` instead of
concatenating strings against a static `DEFAULT_CSP`
- `constants/csp.js` is simplified to a static fallback used only by
`next.config.mjs`
# Additional Changes
- Removed no-op `securitySettings.embeddedIframe.allowedOrigins;`
statements in flow-initiation
- Removed duplicate `X-Frame-Options: SAMEORIGIN` header from
`next.config.mjs` (conflicted with `X-Frame-Options: deny`)
- Added `X-Frame-Options: deny` explicitly on proxy route responses in
middleware (previously relied on next.config.mjs static header surviving
the rewrite)

# Which Problems Are Solved
The first input field on login screens is not automatically focused,
requiring users to manually click before typing. This creates
unnecessary friction during the login flow, particularly for
keyboard-oriented users and accessibility scenarios.
# How the Problems Are Solved
- Added the `autoFocus` prop to the first `TextInput` in all 12 login
form components.
- For forms with conditionally rendered first inputs
(`set-password-form` and `register-form-idp-incomplete`), `autoFocus` is
set dynamically so the correct field receives focus depending on which
input is visible.

# Which Problems Are Solved
The password change flow in Login V2 does not ask the user to confirm
their current password before setting a new one.
# How the Problems Are Solved
- Added a "Current Password" field to the change password form
- The current password is verified via a session password check before
the new password is set
- If the current password is incorrect, the user sees a clear error
message
- Removed the previous 5-minute session freshness check, which is no
longer needed since the current password is verified inline
# Additional Changes
Added translations for the new field labels and error messages across
all supported languages

# Which Problems Are Solved
Enterprise email link scanners (used by organizations for security)
pre-fetch URLs in emails to check for malicious content. In Login V2,
email verification codes are automatically redeemed when the
verification page loads. This causes link scanners to inadvertently
consume one-time verification codes before users can click them,
resulting in "code already used" errors.
# How the Problems Are Solved
- Changed the default behaviour so that verification codes are **not**
auto-submitted on page load — users must click a Submit button to redeem
the code
- Added a new environment variable `NEXT_PUBLIC_AUTO_SUBMIT_CODE` that
can be set to `true` to re-enable auto-submission for instances where
link scanners are not a concern
- The env var is named generically so it can be extended to other
auto-submit flows (e.g. Email OTP) in the future

# Which Problems Are Solved
- Login V2 UI displays all password complexity requirements (symbol,
number, uppercase, lowercase) regardless of the actual
instance/organization configuration
- Users see requirements they don't need to meet, causing confusion
# How the Problems Are Solved
- Updated the PasswordComplexity component to conditionally render each
requirement based on the corresponding `requires*` flag from the
password complexity settings
- Only enabled requirements are now displayed to users
