andwati e5f3bd56a7 chore(gnupg): extend gpg-agent passphrase cache to reduce pinentry prompts
default-cache-ttl 8h -> 24h, max-cache-ttl 24h -> 7d.

andwati e3a4c4d9fb fix(zsh): remove buggy compinit caching hack causing broken tab completion
The custom fast-path check used an inverted glob qualifier (mh+24 matches
stale dumps, not fresh ones), so on a stale dump it ran `compinit -C`
against the same file oh-my-zsh uses, producing a near-empty completions
cache instead of a real one. Also drops the redundant compinit call the
deno installer appended, since oh-my-zsh already handles it.

Also picks up pending drift: deno FPATH/env sourcing, pnpm home path,
and git init.defaultBranch.

fix(zsh): stop lazy-loading nvm, source it eagerly instead

andwati 9d3f45a821 fix(zsh): stop lazy-loading nvm, source it eagerly instead
The lazy-load stub wired nvm/node/npm/npx/corepack as wrapper functions
that called a private helper, _nvm_lazy_load, to source nvm.sh on first
real use. That helper went missing in some non-interactive shell contexts
(e.g. a coding agent's captured shell snapshot only kept the public
wrapper functions, not the underscore-prefixed helper), leaving the
wrappers calling a function that no longer existed - infinite recursion
via FUNCNEST, every npm/node/nvm invocation broken.

Sourcing nvm.sh eagerly costs 300-700ms on shell startup but has no
moving parts to go missing.

andwati 20df614d54 update configs 2026-07-26 20:43:00 +03:00
andwati 9370afd396 Switch install.sh to GNU Stow for symlinking
Manual ln -sfn loop replaced with stow zsh gnupg, matching the repo's
existing per-package-directory convention. Still backs up/removes any
conflicting file or foreign symlink at the target before stowing.

andwati a48be5af09 Track gpg-agent passphrase caching config
Bumps the GPG passphrase cache from the 10-minute default to 8 hours
(24h hard cap) and switches to pinentry-qt for a native KDE dialog, so
signed commits stop re-prompting constantly.
2026-07-25 23:31:13 +03:00
andwati bcfb1ce883 Add zsh config: oh-my-zsh + powerlevel10k, lazy-loaded nvm/pyenv
Cuts shell startup from ~440ms to ~150ms by lazy-loading nvm and pyenv
(previously sourced eagerly on every shell start) and caching oh-my-zsh's
completion rescan, which otherwise reran unconditionally every session.
Also fixes a latent bug where oh-my-zsh's extendedglob option silently
broke nvm's default-version auto-activation.

Adds powerlevel10k, zsh-autosuggestions, zsh-syntax-highlighting,
zsh-history-substring-search, zsh-completions, you-should-use, fzf, and
zoxide. install.sh bootstraps a fresh machine: symlinks these dotfiles
and clones the oh-my-zsh theme/plugins.

# dotfiles
My configuration configuration files that keep me from flipping a table after logging in.
My configuration files that keep me from flipping a table after logging in.
## Setup
```
sudo pacman -S stow # or your distro's equivalent
git clone https://github.com/andwati/dotfiles ~/dev/dotfiles
~/dev/dotfiles/install.sh
```
Each top-level directory is a [GNU Stow](https://www.gnu.org/software/stow/)
package mirroring `$HOME` (e.g. `zsh/.zshrc` -> `~/.zshrc`). `install.sh`
clones oh-my-zsh plus the theme/plugins `.zshrc` expects (powerlevel10k,
zsh-autosuggestions, zsh-syntax-highlighting, zsh-history-substring-search,
zsh-completions, you-should-use), then stows the `zsh`, `gnupg`, and `git` packages to link
everything in, backing up any conflicting real files it finds first (e.g.
oh-my-zsh's own freshly-installed `.zshrc`).
To add a new package: create a top-level dir shaped like `$HOME` (e.g.
`git/.gitconfig`), then add a `stow_package <name>` call in `install.sh`.
`gpg-agent.conf` caches your GPG passphrase for 8 hours (24h hard cap)
instead of the 10-minute default, so signed commits don't re-prompt
constantly, and uses `pinentry-qt` for a native dialog instead of a
terminal prompt.
Not installed by the script — grab these separately if a fresh machine needs
them: `nvm`, `pyenv`, `bun`, `pnpm`, `deno`, `rustup`, `docker`, `fzf`,
`zoxide`, and a Nerd Font (JetBrains Mono Nerd Font) set as your terminal font.
